Parents Face a Horrifying Nightmare as Graphic Images Are Unveiled in D4vd Murder Hearing

Los Angeles – In the opening day of a preliminary hearing, prosecutors shocked the parents of 14‑year‑old Celeste Rivas Hernandez by showing them graphic photographs of her dismembered corpse. The images, which depicted a torso, a head, and severed limbs found inside a Tesla trunk, were presented for the first time in court, after being described only in filings.

David Anthony D4vd, the 21‑year‑old singer, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and sexual abuse. Prosecutors claim he purchased a chainsaw, body bag, inflatable pool and shovel online in the days following Celeste’s death, using these items to dismember and conceal her body.

The court heard from homicide detective Joshua Byers, who described opening a heavy bag inside the vehicle and finding decomposing human remains. He also presented evidence linking the suspect to the victim, including a red ink tattoo reading "Celeste" on Burke’s left ring finger and a matching "Shhh…" tattoo on Celeste’s right index finger.

Celeste’s parents, who were warned of the graphic nature of the evidence, reacted with shock and tears. Their lawyer, Patrick Steinfeld, described the moment as “absolutely deplorable” and said the family was “at a loss for words.”

The hearing, held at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, was attended by journalists, social media creators and members of the public. While the judge remained stern, the atmosphere was tense as the suspect was brought in shackled and wearing an orange jail uniform.

Prosecutors will continue to bring witnesses and evidence in the coming days, aiming to convince the judge that the case is ready for a jury trial, while the family mourns the loss of their daughter under horrific circumstances.
