E Jean Carroll has asked a judge to order former President Donald Trump to pay the $5 million (£3.7 million) in damages that a New York jury awarded for sexual abuse and defamation.
The request comes a day after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected Trump’s bid to review the case.
Carroll’s lawsuit roots in an alleged assault in the mid‑1990s when Trump reportedly attacked her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing‑room and subsequently denied the claims on Truth Social.
Trump’s lawyers have asked for repeated delays in payment and have appealed the jury verdict, yet a federal appeals court upheld the original decision last year, finding no trial‑judge mistakes.
“It is time for him to pay Carroll,” the plaintiffs’ counsel wrote, citing the “extraordinary lengths” Trump has taken to avoid payment.
