Marius Borg Høiby, aged 27, the stepson of Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, has been arrested by Norwegian authorities on suspicion of rape, raising significant concern due to his royal connections. The arrest occurred on Monday night at 23:12 (22:12 GMT), while he was reportedly in a vehicle with a victim related to another incident.

Charges against Høiby include engaging in sexual acts with individuals who were unable to resist, and he has been linked to offences against four different victims. While he has reportedly denied the allegations, the police have indicated that the ongoing investigation involves serious claims of violence, maltreatment in relationships, and violations of a restraining order.

Authorities noted that in addition to the serious sexual assault case, Høiby has also faced separate charges of violence and destruction of property stemming from incidents dating back to early August. His residence in Skaugum, located near the royal family's home, has been searched by law enforcement as part of the investigation.

Further complicating matters, Høiby has been previously charged with abusive behavior towards ex-girlfriends, which adds to the escalating concerns about his actions. As of now, the Norwegian palace has not issued any public comment regarding the situation.
