President Volodymyr Zelensky has called out US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for visiting Moscow without making an official trip to Kyiv, describing their actions as 'disrespectful.' The envoys have traveled to the Russian capital on several occasions, the most recent visits taking place late last year and in January as ceasefire discussions for the ongoing Ukraine conflict gained momentum. Witkoff, who is Donald Trump's special envoy, has traveled to Moscow eight times and has met with President Vladimir Putin numerous times but has never visited Kyiv. Zelensky's comments came during an interview with a Ukrainian media outlet where he emphasized the significance of Ukraine in the diplomatic discussions, stating, 'It's disrespectful for them to come to Moscow and not Kyiv.' He also acknowledged the logistical complexities but insisted that meetings could occur in other countries if necessary. Earlier this month, Zelensky mentioned that the two envoys had planned to visit Ukraine, but those plans were derailed due to the escalating US-Israel conflict with Iran. The ongoing war in Ukraine, which has been active since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, has created a backdrop of increasing tensions and ongoing negotiations involving various international parties.
