TACOMA, Wash. — The Army has released the names of four soldiers killed Wednesday when the military helicopter they were in crashed near Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state. The victims were chief warrant officers Andrew Cully, 35, of Sparta, Missouri, Andrew Kraus, 39, of Sanibel, Florida, and sergeants Donavon Scott, 25, of Tacoma, Washington, and Jadalyn Good, 23, of Mount Vernon, Washington. The helicopter was on a routine training flight when it crashed around 9 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but reports indicated that the skies were mostly clear with light winds at the time. Col. Stephen Smith highlighted the soldiers' remarkable dedication and excellence, stating, 'They embodied the unwavering dedication, selflessness, and excellence that define the very spirit of the Army and Army Special Operations.' They were members of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, known for their proficiency in nighttime operations, which has faced multiple tragedies in recent years.
